Back from another big show weekend out of town… and back at it!

It was a great weekend down in Palm Springs. We played to a huge and crazy crowd out in the Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio. It was a HOT one down there. We sound checked in 110 degree temps out in the sun… that was brutal. lol.
Showtime was hot and a bit humid for that part of the world. We had to dig in for over 90 minutes straight of intense playing. I gotta say, my stamina is good. I felt solid throughout… I was even called upon to do an impromptu drum solo. We rocked the house and by the end I was sweating from head to toe. And it was all worth it!
We got back to L.A. yesterday and I actually had to do work until about 3am editing a reel for an actor client. Back to work this morning as well and finally took a break a bit ago and got back to the weights. It was a little hard getting into it at first as I am a bit run down from the weekend. But I kept pushing and dug in. I worked it hard until I could barely move my arms and then powered through Ab Ripper X. Right now I am feeling it. And it feels good. 🙂 No time to rest though… gotta throw in laundry and get back to editing the music video that I have been working on for the last week.

P90X – Legs and Back
Plus Triceps and Abs!

Dug in on legs and back today. Since I hit the gym this week on shoulders/arms day and left out triceps, I worked them in today instead. I switched in tricep exercises for various leg and back exercises so the timing was still the same. I wanted a good burn today, but I didn’t wanna totally wipe myself out. My band Hollywood Roses is headlining a big show tomorrow night at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA. It will be a 2 hour show outdoors and therefore will be physically grueling. After an hour or so of legs, back, and triceps, and stretched out for a bit and then did about 5 minutes of abs. I passed on the full Ab Ripper X. Not today. All in all, it was a great week of workouts with minimal rest. This weekend will be a lot of work but a lot of fun. I wish you all an amazing weekend!
Yesterday’s gym workout was awesome. I am enjoying the beautiful soreness in my biceps and shoulders as we speak. In following along with the program, today should have been yoga day. I admit… I have not done yoga in a while. I do love yoga, but I got a little burned on the P90X yoga class. I need more variety in doing yoga and I prefer a class setting better where I can have an instructor and also share the positive energy with others. Not to say I will not do P90X yoga again, but on days like today, I just don’t want to take 98 minutes away from my day and would rather just burn calories and get back to work. So today I took an early afternoon break and did Cardio X… which btw, starts with yoga, so I still got some yoga in. 😉
I actually had a great cardio workout today. Cardio X is not an overly intense workout, but I went harder on each move today. I just upped the intensity and man, I was sweating like a beast. A perfect workout for today. And now I am back to work… plus we have a shoot this evening. Have a great day!
I got to visit with an old friend and his new fiancee today in Hollywood. I therefore planned ahead and brought my gym clothes. Off to Hollywood Gold’s Gym again!

Once again it was great to be back at the gym today. This was my 2nd gym workout in the last week. I still feel that combining gym workouts with P90X is the perfect combo for me. I felt great doing heavier weights today. I was pulling heavy shrugs and curls among other exercises. I kept up good intensity throughout and went pretty extreme. Today would have been shoulders and arms with the P90 program, so I pretty much stayed on track. Although I did not do triceps, I do plan to add them in along with my leg and back workout in 2 days.
I am expecting some wicked soreness tomorrow… and I’m ok with that. 🙂
P90X – Plyometrics

I am sore. All over. Chest and Back showing their results from yesterday’s lift. My legs… still sore from the gym on Friday. Busy day as well today with a lot of work still to do tonight. But… I wanted to work out… even something. I considered resting, but instead popped in Plyomtetrics. I know… when you feel sore, put on the most intense workout of the program. lol. Well the idea was to cut the workout into half the time, but still get the full intensity. And ya know… this kind of worked. I did the warmup, and then instead of repeating every round twice, I just did it once and then skipped to the next round. I did that all the way through until the bonus round and then I finished there strong. I still was sweating… still out of breath. But I spared my body from too crazy of a workout as well as shaved a half hour off so I could get back to work. And that’s where I’m headed now. I’m in the middle of editing a music video for our newest pop star client. I’ll share that when it’s done in the next few weeks. Have a beautiful night!

It’s been a good, productive weekend thus far. I was up late last night editing video and spent most of today cleaning up and organizing around the house. And I have more video editing to do tonight. But, I definitely wanted to rock the chest, back, and abs workout today. It was a great workout as well. I went to failure on all chest and back moves and dug in deep on my abs. I’m expecting much soreness tomorrow. lol.
Since Monday, I have worked out 6 out of 7 days… 2 P90X weight days, 1 weight day in the gym, and 3 cardio workouts. A solid week if I say so myself! Ok… gonna get to it here. I hope you had a great weekend and I wish you an awesome week ahead.
I am quite sore today from yesterday’s leg workout at the gym. It feels great. 🙂 And as I plug through a productive Saturday, I decided a nice cardio workout would do the trick. So… Cardio X it was. Just intense enough to get a good sweat going, but not too crazy to kill me and my sore legs. I feel good and ready for a productive Saturday night of video editing. Substituted the P90X leg day today for a big leg blast at the gym. I had a noon meeting with my networking group, The All Cities Media group, over at Paramount Studios. Perfect time and location to swing around to Gold’s Gym Hollywood right after.
I hit it hard for about 75 minutes doing heavier leg lifts, abs, and a few sets of pullups and shrugs just for fun. It felt good to be in the gym vibe today. And it wasn’t too crowded which allowed for a more intense workout. Home workouts are quite convenient, but the energy of the gym and actually being somewhere away from home are also great. I felt strong and inspired today and had a great workout.

This week is going great… 3 workouts in a row… which is good the way my schedule has been lately. Even though my routine is all over the place time wise, I am still getting them in. It was a night workout tonight… big time back and biceps! I love the extra focus on biceps in this one. I worked it hard. I have officially outgrown my stretch bands. Time to upgrade. It feels good to feel strong and see the improvements. I’m gonna have to either get more weights here or start hitting the gym more so I can put on some more size. All in all, I am very pleased with my workouts thus far since being back from Tijuana.
Ab ripper X was good today as well. Although I must say, it is hard doing that intense of an ab workout after an hour of crazy weight training. Sometimes I just don’t have it in me or I fall a bit short. Today I kicked it into high gear and did the entire thing, but it’s not always so easy. When I work out at the gym, I usually mix in my sets of abs in between sets of weights so that I am doing them throughout. It keeps me going while resting between exercises and it also prevents saving all of the ab exercises for the end. I wonder how we can mix up P90X to get more abs in early on. Hmmmmm…. 😉

2 days back and 2 workouts down. I had a great sweat today. I usually breeze through this workout, but the lingering effects of the weekend led to a more intense cardio workout today. I was sweating out the toxins and feeling great. Guess I needed that.
