P90X – Round 2, Day 64!

Wow… busy day… glad I got it in!

P90X – Legs and Back

It has been a beautiful, but crazy busy week already.  I’m just glad I have managed to fit 2 workouts in already.   I had a lot of work to do this morning, but took a break to knock out the legs and back workout before a business meeting and a photo shoot.  Glad I got it in earlier.  Obviously I am blogging some 5 hours after my workout.  It was a solid one today as usual.  However, I did legs at the gym the other day and was able to really push some heavy weight.  This workout is more of a burn but less on the weights.  Being that my legs need the most development, I think I will need to mix it up from now on, doing a leg day at the gym and then doing a P90X leg day for the burn.  That will probably maximize my results.

Ok… gotta run, we are picking up gear and prepping for a big music video that we are shooting tomorrow.  Then on Friday, my band Hollywood Roses will be heading down to Mexico to play the Tijuana Beer Fest.  I will return at some point on Saturday.  So, I don’t know if you will hear much from me between now and Sunday.  I am blessed to be so busy with so many wonderful things.  I wish you all a fantastic rest of your week! 🙂

P90X – Round 2, Day 63!

If you’ve been following along lately, you know that my schedule has been craaaazy!  Every day has been a new adventure and we’ve been busier than ever.  Trust me, I am not complaining!  But my workout schedule has been far from routine.  Hell, I’m just happy I’m still able to get em in.  And just to give you an idea as to how hard we’ve been going, this morning I literally passed out while meditating.  I was just having a nice quick morning meditation to clear my mind for the day and woke up an hour later in the fetal position. haha.  I guess I needed a little more sleep.  We went hard all day and so I finally got my workout in this evening.

On to shoulders, biceps, triceps, and abs today.  I felt good going in.  I also felt strong.  I have outgrown my weights and stretch bands, especially doing biceps.  But I went for solid form and more reps and was still able to burn out hard.  After going to the gym the other day,  I am now desiring it more as I enjoyed lifting the heavier weights.  However, on a day like today, I would have never made it to the gym and it’s only because of my home workout that I got it in.  So… there is a balance there.  Well like I said, I felt strong and I pushed hard straight through til the end. Great overall workout today.

I’m gonna try to get as many workouts in between now and Friday as I can.  I have 3 meetings tomorrow in 3 different parts of town.  Then a photo shoot on Wed, and then we’re directing a music video on Thursday.  Oh, and it that wasn’t enough, my band Hollywood Roses is playing a big festival in Tijuana on Friday!  So I’m thinking by Sunday I may need a massage or something. lol.

Awesome workout this morning.  I love the biceps exercise on this one.  As for the back exercises, I switched it up and did them all with the stretch band.  I wanted to chill on the pullups today and do more focused moves on my back.  And it was still a fantastic pump.  The biceps of course were great and I am still feeling the after burn.  I hit abs hard as well and feelin’ great for the rest of the day.

Gotta run now.  Prepping for 2 shoots tomorrow… we will be going from 9am until about 11pm tomorrow, so  will most def not be blogging.  Have a fantastic weekend and here’s a little inspiration for ya…

P90X – Round 2, Day 45!

Day 45?!  I guess that means I just passed the halfway point of Round 2!

P90X – Cardio X
Total Time = 49 Minutes

I’m feeling great today!  Keeping my shortened off-week going with some Cardio X.  It’s actually not even one of the off-week workouts, but since I am shortening this week of kenpo, yoga, and core, Cardio X was a fitting workout since it combines all of those together!

I had good energy this morning.  My stamina is improving as I felt very on top of this workout.  When it was over… I was ready for more!  Ahhh… results.  🙂  I think I will get back to the next round of weights tomorrow.  I’m amped up!

Welcome back Plyo!

P90X – Plyometrics

Up and at ’em on a beautiful Sunday morning and kicked into Plyo.  I actually have not done the plyo workout in almost 2 months.  If you’ve been following along, the last time I did Plyo, I tweaked my back a little.  Therefore, I have been swapping out the Plyo workouts with Cardio X… also a very good workout.  Well today, I felt it was time to give Plyometrics a try again.  And I am glad I did!  It was a fantastic and intense cardio workout to start out the day.  I was very conscious of my form today and kept my core nice and tight to support my back.  I also modified a couple of the moves where I know the impact on my back was a little much.  I had great stamina and was able to keep up and finish strong.  I am feeling fantastic right now, but have to run as we have a photo shoot client on the way to shoot headshots.

P90X – Round 2, Day 14!

Inspired Saturday…

We had an amazing day yesterday full of meetings and a film screening of one of the most inspiring films I have ever seen.  The day was jam packed from the minute we woke up until we got home after midnight.  Therefore, there was no time for a workout.  However, yesterday’s workout was the X Stretch which can also be used as the one day a week to take a rest day.  So a rest day it was.  But you know me, I will keep track and make up a stretch class somewhere along the way just as I did in the last round.

So this morning it was chest, back, and abs.  Another huge workout.  I am able to keep pushing myself further and further to failure and the burn is oh so good!  I can really now both feel and see the effects of the training and diet that I have been maintaining over the last 4 months and I am quite pleased with my achievements along this journey.

Today is actually going to be another jam packed day as we are going to do a shoot in a bit, followed by attending the Create:Fixate Photography Gallery event downtown, and follow that by meeting up with some of our good friends later on for Karaoke at Sardos. Whew! Another awesome day in progress.

Before I go, however, I wanted to share a bit more about the film we saw last night.  It is called People v. The State of Illusion and it will change your life.  I was very fortunate to recently befriend Betsy Chasse who brought us the film “What the Bleep Do We Know”.  Her company is distributing “People v. The State of Illusion” and she invited us to last night’s special screening featuring a Q&A with the filmmakers.  Like I said, it was a very inspiring and eye-opening film.  It is playing in Westwood for a limited time and also is or will be appearing in other cities around the country.  My wife Mary wrote a beautiful blog about the film this morning and in it, she included all of the info and links so that you can learn more about the film and where to see it.  Check out her post:  http://marylousandler.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/see-this-movie-it-will-change-your-life/

Big legs and back workout today!  I hit it hard and brought the intensity.  The leg workout is always a killer and I stayed strong throughout.  My pullups are improving as well, as I found my numbers increasing with each set.  I dug in deep today.  By the end I was sweating all over the place, I was out of breath, and quite frankly I felt nauseous.  And that’s a good thing.  The only problem is that by the time I got to abs, I was toast.  I worked the back and legs so hard for almost an hour, that I just didn’t have much left in the tank.  But I forged ahead.  I did alter a few of the moves as well as stopped to breath a couple times as I was a little light headed.  But I finished strong and I am feeling good now.  I have lots to do plus we have a photo shoot tonight, so I must go.  Have a great day!  And here’s today’s quote:
